Fishing in St Lucia
St Lucia is known as the place to get stuck into a tight line. Anglers has a choice of doing this in the estuary,
on-shore and off-shore. Fishing in St Lucia is exciting and should be on the bucket list for any angler, from the social fisherman to the competition angler.
You have a choice for fishing on the beach or fly fishing at Charters creek (easy access from Dukuduku Park entrace). Please note you cannot remove and Kob species from the reserve. Recommended light tackle for the perfect grunter entertainment.
Anglers can indulge in rock and surf angling from the most beautiful beaches flanked by the highest dunes in Southern Africa.
Various species can be caught off the surf, grunters, salmon, stump nose, pompano, garrick, various species of sharks and skates for the competitive angler.
Anglers can park at the main swim beach and walk up north to First Rocks (7km). Anglers are often rewarded handsomely for their efforts, more especially during late winter. Mission Rocks is a further 4km from First Rocks.
Cape Vidal is accessible by car, approximately 30km from St Lucia. The Ledges is on the south of Vidal which is accessible on low tide.
